Can nail free adhesive be used as structural adhesive
Time:2024-04-24
Nail free adhesive is a high-strength structural building adhesive that is relatively easy to use and very popular. Compared to structural adhesive, nail free adhesive has a wider range of uses. The nail free adhesive is hard after curing, while the structural adhesive has strong toughness after curing. Both nail free adhesive and structural adhesive are suitable for permanent adhesion, but during the curing process, the adhesive layer of nail free adhesive will become thinner and the structural adhesive will not change much. Nail free adhesive does not require drilling and its application range is different from structural adhesive, so it cannot be used as structural adhesive.
1、 Can nail free adhesive be used as structural adhesive
Nail free adhesive cannot be used as structural adhesive. Because these two types of adhesives have different points of action, structural adhesives are generally used for bonding materials such as metals, ceramics, and wood, with strong peel resistance and no thermal impact on parts. Nail free adhesive is generally used to replace nails, without drilling holes, and can carry large heavy objects such as mirrors, thresholds, junction boxes, etc., so the two are not comparable.
2、 The difference between structural adhesive and nail free adhesive
1. Overview
Structural adhesive refers to an adhesive with high strength (compressive strength>65MPa, steel steel tensile bonding strength>30MPa, shear strength>18MPa), which can withstand large loads, and is resistant to aging, fatigue, corrosion, and stable performance within the expected life. It is suitable for bonding strong structural components. Structural adhesive has high strength, peel resistance, impact resistance, and simple construction process. Used for bonding between the same or different materials such as metals, ceramics, plastics, rubber, wood, etc. It can partially replace traditional connection forms such as welding, riveting, and bolt connection. The stress distribution on the joint surface is uniform and has no thermal impact or deformation on the parts.
Structural adhesive is widely used in engineering, mainly for the reinforcement, anchoring, bonding, repair, and other purposes of components; Such as bonding steel, bonding carbon fiber, planting reinforcement, crack reinforcement, sealing, hole repair, road stud bonding, surface protection, concrete bonding, etc.
Non nail glue, also known as liquid nails or glue nails, as the name suggests, is a new product that replaces nails. It does not require the use of tools such as electric drills, hammers, expansion nails, etc. for installation, does not require drilling, and has the advantages of no noise, no dust, etc. Free nail glue is commonly referred to as liquid nail abroad and free nail glue in China.
Nail free adhesive can directly bond load-bearing materials. First, bond the load-bearing materials together, then separate them and wait for about 5 minutes to dry before placing them in place. The product is used to fix covering materials, wood, gypsum board, metal, mirror, glass, plastic, rubber, skirting board, blinds, thresholds, sills, boundary stakes, pillars, junction boxes, various artificial materials, ornamental stone tools, and ceramic tiles onto concrete, bricks, plaster, walls, and cardboard.
2. Application field
Structural adhesive
(1) Primarily used for structural or non structural bonding assembly between metal and glass in glass curtain walls.
(2) It can directly connect glass with the surface of metal components to form a single assembly component, meeting the design requirements of fully concealed or semi concealed frames for curtain walls.
(3) Structural bonding and sealing of insulating glass.
(4) Structural assembly and bonding of building materials
Nail free adhesive
(1) Furniture manufacturing industry: adhesive mercury lenses, aluminum edge banding, handles, crystal boards, marble, board bonding, etc.
(2) Decoration and decoration industry: bonding and fixing various wooden lines, door frame lines, gypsum lines, floor tiles, various decorative pendants, and various wall panel projects, etc.
(3) Exhibition and display industry: adhesive fixation of various calligraphy and paintings, signs, acrylic, exhibition and Gui production, and so on.
(4) Cabinet door panel industry: adhesive crystal steel plate, etc. This product is used to fix the covering materials, wood, gypsum board, metal, mirror, glass, plastic, rubber, skirting board, blinds, thresholds, sills, boundary stakes, pillars, junction boxes, various artificial materials, ornamental stone tools, and ceramic tiles onto concrete, bricks, plaster, walls, and cardboard.
3. Product performance
Structural adhesive
